I've just got back from the yard having had the vet out to my boy. The silly 4rse decided to jump into Next Door's field yesterday and came off worse.
Both hind legs are like balloons and he's hopping lame.
The vet advised me to cross tie him for three weeks because apparently, if a horse takes a knock to the front of the Tibia, there's a risk that with too much lying down and getting up, the bone can just shatter. Has anybody heard of this? Am now terrified that i'm going to turn up and find horse has broken leg.
Also does anyone have any tips on how to keep a particularly active Section D entertained for three weeks?
