Decided to have a 'fun' schooling session so I set out 4 trotting poles, some tyres to weave in and out of and 2 towers made out of tyres to use as markers, I also put my stirrups on show legnth (shortest hole on adult stirrups) considering I usually ride on number 5 it was quite a change
By the time I had got up to the menage with Ted the farmer had his tractor in the top half of the menage, I didn't mind and continued to school in the bottom half. Had some lovely weaving in walk, when the farmer moved I did some trot work, for 4 or 5 strides we had a lovely strong 'powerhouse' trot. And then he turned stupid, he was spinning out, refusing to stick to the outside track and throwing in a few sly bucks. Attempted to get him listening again by going back to walk and he was still misbahaving but he was easier to control in walk. Decided to call it a day once I had managed to get a full lap of trot. Plan was to go round in walk then in trot, got to the top corner and he exploded !!! Galloped round bucking and broncoing. Luckily I didn't come off but I did end up on his neck so had to climb off then get back on. After a lap of walk I called it a day.
My shoulders/back in killing me, one of my thumbs is bruised where the reins ended up round it (god knows how) and I have rope burn
Loose schooled him afterwards and he was hyper, galloping round bucking but he worked brilliantly to voice commands afterward this. He did some lovely troting and jumping (his choice not mine)
