Stupid question alert re breastplates

So I am beginning to do that jumping thing with horsey and being ‘all the gear and not much of an idea’ when it comes to all things cross country I recently bought a lovely event saddle and was advised to order an event girth (needed ordering cos he’s a big boy and needed a 32 inch short girth which saddler didn’t have in stock ) now I have a breast plate that fits ... it has a leather loop to pass the girth thru but how do I attach the loop to the ring on my fancy event girth? Do I need an attachment of some kind or a different breast plate or am I simply an idiot who can’t work it out?

Remember if answering there is no such thing as a stupid question and I have vast quantities of gin and homemade ice cream for people who are nice to me...

Some come with lobster clips on them - you could add one if you want to clip it onto the ring rather than slip the girth through it?

Yep, this is perfect. It’s what I did last time. Although do remember having one put on at a saddlery once for not very much at all. (Before seeing this screw sort!)
