I bought one of those crochet ear cover thingies for Ella, to see if it would help her, as we have so many flies at the moment, and she really doesn't like them. But how do i attach it to her bridle? It has strings, do i just tie the strings round the bridle headpiece, or do they go somewhere else?

Oh and er, does the ear cover go under or over the bridle? I'm assuming under, but just want to make sure!

I don't know if there is a correct way but I pop mine on under the bridle so the headpiece and browband sit over the top of it, then do the string up loosely like a throatlash and put the throatlash strap through the loop at the end just to hold it securely. Seems to stay in place nicely and def makes a difference to mine, flies can't bite inside his ears.

Wrap the thread round and round the throat lash then when you have done the throat lash up tie the end to the keeper on the other side of the fly veil. Hope that makes sense!!

a good quality one should have enough flap at the back to sit completely under the headpiece of the bridle. i always cut the string off cause the bridle holds them in place if they fit properly and if for any reason you had to get bridle off in a hurry the less fiddly strings you have to mess with the better

Hate the strings, always end up arguing with them
