Has anyone on here used one before ? Likes/dislikes etc. I believe you can use them with a treed saddle but do they work with a saddle that fits properly or does it have to be slightly wide? Looking to use on a horse that has had back/shoulder probs in the past (though not high wither/scrawny type), tends to be one sided, slight atrophy and uneven muscle development, have heard they are great for even weight distribution, building up muscle on the back, helping to move more freely through the shoulder and just very comfy for the horse. Oh and great for saddle stability too!

If all the above is true

does anyone know if its possible to hire one? Really would like to try one first as sooooo expensive to buy

i've got one, you're welcome to try it. i've used it with a treed saddle that fits the horse.
i like it, only use it on a horse with an unevenness etc. it does 'float' you quite far off the horse's back before it settles so i wouldn't put one on a horse that might start bucking, as the saddle is a bit unstable until it settles (but i hate having v tight girths at the beginning so it's prob my fault for not girthing tightly enough to begin with, i like to let things settle)
