Submissive horses being turned out in company....help!

Bob is very submissive to other horses when he is turned out (little drip

) so he was moved from a field with 4 horses + him to share with just one other. Now he is submissive to this other one (surprise surprise!) and I am starting to have problems catching him in the evening because he cannot bear to leave his friend

If I take food out there to catch him the dominant one drives Bob away from me to get to the food first

- so I end up using loads of MY hard feed to tip some on the ground for the dominant one, then dashing over to Bob and catching him

Any ideas on how to get around this please? I am thinking of moving him to a small paddock where he can be turned out on his own, it is driving me mad spending half an hour a day just trying to catch him

Take a friend to put a headcollar on the dominant one, then Bob will think he's coming in too, and in any case that would stop the dominant one being a bully. Are you allowed to just leave one out on its own then, because we're not at my yard?

Depending on which horse it is, then yes we are

Obviously I would never leave one horse out if I knew it stressed being alone, but A (the dominant horse) doesnt know the meaning of the word stress

(He lives out 24/7 when Bob comes in at night still)

Oddly Bob is also fine when he is left out on his own, he doesnt bother or stress in the least
