my pony has quite sensitive digestion and gets the runs if anything changes, like when they move pastures in summer then autumn and also when he's on haylage. he also poos for britain when excited out hacking. anyway, i tried him on pink powder during summer and he seemed to improve while he was on the loading dose, but as soon as i lowered the dose to maintenance, he started splatting again. for the past two months he's been having thrive and seems to be doing really well. i gave him the loading dose for a while, then he went off his feed with it in. so now i just give him a tiny sprinkle of thrive, hidden on either carrots or apples and he's great. even though he's not getting the dose they recommend, its obviously enough to be helping him. i havent had to wash him bum and back legs all winter so far.

just thought i'd add that for anyone else who might hve the same problem.

I'm definitley going to try NAF Thrive now, I have been searching for supplements to try for my horse who sounds just like yours, I tried pink powder also but with little improvement so will definitely give thrive a go.

Thrive is excellent stuff, and IIRC Naf keep threatening to reformulate it until their sales reps make a fuss (on your behalf). It's quite an old formulation now by industry standards, but its still great. The only thing I know of that's similar is Protexin Pro-Soothe pH and its a heck of a lot more expensive!

I have now tried NAF thrive with great results even though it has only been a week or so I have noticed a huge improvement, no horrible pooey tail or dirty back legs! Great! :)
