Ode to my amazing horse this weekend he has just been outstanding.
Saturday XC at Somerford . Jumped everything I put him at , all be it a bit keen sometimes but was so straight and honest and bold. Including big pheasant feeder, new step complex big step to skinny triple brush palisade thing, skinny barrel - ditch - skinny barrel, coffin complex, corners the list goes on plus bold into water just so chuffed with him as not seen fixed fence since end of last season.
Yesterday BSJA, wanted to go do Newcomers but they had lots of qualifiers on and so many people there decided to go for the 1.05m, with so many there we didnt jump until 4ish and I was worried Bud might be bit tight from XC but need not have worried he went brill, it was well up to height and he popped round = lovely clear, then 26 clears out of strong over 50 entries and people were flying in the jump off lots of pros there. Anyway planned my route and rode neat and fast and he responded so well. Ended up 4th!! And it was a SCOPE qualifier so we qualified too.
Top it off Janette Brakewell was there with 2 in it and we beat her at least if I cant manage it eventing I did BSJA
, and I checked her horses records and both have been Intermediate so I felt extra proud of Budsie.
So I am just so elated with him and pleased I made the decision to go straight Novice eventing and just hope we can keep sound for a good season.
Sorry for self indulgent post just wanted to praise my horse as I feel so lucky to have him and all his talent.
