My vet wanted to give my horses with long term problems a two week course of anseptin (sucralfate) but can't get it from their supplier or the local chemist as apparently it is in short supply. Does anyone know if you can get it abroad with a UK prescription?

I had the same issue I think there is a worldwide shortage. I ended up buying my ulcer meds from Abler along with a prebiotic and hoped that the after cleanse routine I do for 6 weeks and supplements would sort out any hind gut ulcers if there were any. Seems to have worked for me.

My other option was to use Succeed.

I had great success with chia mastica powder from Intelligent horserace. It was £25 for four week course and has transformed my mare!

Failing that try Gaviscon liquid. On my vet's advice this is what I did when there were supply problems before & it seems to work just as well for my horse.
