Its not going to make anything better. When the big gun dies the next one just takes over. We need to get out while we can and thats that really.

It's a tricky one. I don't like the idea of killing someone as retalliation but I do feel they have no right to lead any sort of life and to keep them in any fashion is going to cost vast amounts of money which I think could be put to far better use.

Very sad - I do not believe this is good for anyone, just for the pleasure of G. W.

I think one must learn once you have made an enormous mess of the situation, and mistake after mistake not to do anything so drastic.

Considering each US invasion killed many more innocent Iraqis and Americans it does make you ponder what is right and what is not and why.....

Sooty,the whole thing stinks.
At first, when the death penalty was handed down to Saddam Hussein I almost felt like some kind of satisfactory solution had been reached.......but now the whole sorry thing makes me feel sick.
His execution was meant to be the most exptreme form of punishment, yet it's been turned into some kind of freak show.....and if anyone thinks that Iraq will be "OK" after all of this then they're very very stupid

Sad to say, Iraq was a lot more 'ok' before the intervention of our troops. And a lot more Iraqis were alive... You are absolutely right, the whole thing does stink, and has done from the word go.

I think for some of the Iraq population - they were better off under the regime they had. Far better than the constant upheavel at the moment.

But we should never have gone in in the first place.

And he's been allowed to die a martyr, life prison sentence would have been better and completely stripped of everything

Apparently, more Iraqi civilians are now dead than people died in 9/11. And still GWB isn't satisfied...

Umm, the statistic you are refering to is - more American soldiers have died in Iraq than in the 9/11 attacks.

I believe 3000 civilians were killed in the first week of the fighting.

I think its an easy way out for him. Instead of being kept in prison for the rest of his life to suffer he has been killed which in one way is good but is it really going to make any difference? We can only wait and see...

I dont have much of an opinion on this one - its swings and roundabouts, whatever choice was made in some peoples eyes it would be the wrong one and others the right.

Some people I know have searched for the video on www.youtube.com - it is on there but apparently its quite dark but light enough to see whats going on.
