Sudden hair loss on legs

My horse is losing a large amount of hair in patches on both front legs looks like a new born baby bird!!
One leg was a little swollen for a couple of days, but that may or may not be related
He is not itchy at all
At first I thought it was reaction to baby oil but I've been using it months

Maybe fungal?!!

Mud fever.

Try Lincoln Muddy Buddy treatment (about £18 for a small tub but you only use a small amount per application). I would keep your horse in for a while if possible whilst treating it, but if you do put them out then make sure you smear the affected area with vaseline first.

The start of mudfever? My cob's hind legs have gone bald and I'm now battling to save the rest of his hair!
