Can anyone share any not so positive experiences they've had with these saddles please?

My husband purchased one earlier in the year, second hand but directly from SC and fitted by her. He paid over 4k for it...

He had a fitter out a few weeks ago to check it, all apparently okay. We've since had the physio and the chiro out who have both advised that the horse in question has back pain, almost certainly from the saddle.

Husband called the office and advised this, the earliest they would give him an appointment for was 2 weeks time. He tried to ride last night and had to get off after 10 minutes, the saddle had come forward a good two inches and the horse got herself so upset that after exploding several times she then rooted to the spot and wouldn't move. We took the saddle off and there were some serious friction/rub marks on her back after just 10 minutes of being ridden. She's short coupled with big shoulders, I've seen some pretty old posts from others saying their horses with a similar build just didn't get on with SC saddles.

The brand has a lot of affiliation with professional riders, but this experience has left a bit of a bitter taste and we wondered if anyone else had experienced anything similar? My husband now simply wants them to take the saddle back as he's lost all faith in it.

Sue Carsons fitted the saddle I presume?

When is earlier in the year? No issues since "earlier in the year" until now? No friction or movement until now?

I find it a little odd that you’ve all of a sudden got rub marks and slipping? Did the fitter make any adjustments on your most recent fitting?

Did you get a copy of the template drawings when you last had saddle fitted - it would be interesting to see if horse has changed shape? Then you can have a better idea if horse or saddle had changed!!

For example, when I started working one of mine, after a couple of months the saddle started moving forward, because the fat on the shoulder that had been holding it in place was dissapearing?

If two saddlers deemed it to be a good fit, then I would be fairly confident that it was, at the time of the saddle fittings. Saddle fittings are like MOTs, fine on the day. I honestly wouldnt be trying to apportion blame - far too stressful. Just sell the saddle and start again.

There are many, many bad Sue Carson saddles reviews that I’ve seen.
I’ve not had one but simply based on all the bad reviews I’d read I didn’t even consider them.
Hope you get sorted soon.
