[QUOTE="DirectorFury, post: 14464131, member: 119246” Ireally hope this isn’t accurate, her research is incredibly valuable :(.
[/QUOTE]
If this is true then it will mean all her research is worthless as if she can lie about one thing then why not another.

I just looked at the ‘research’. It is not exactly statistically valid in any way! Not enough animals tested, type of horse/musculature etc not considered, generally not great. I have a 15hh TB who could never carry comfortably the weight her 13.2hh NF friend could...absolute weight obviously matters but not every horse is equal. And it does help if the saddle fits! To get decent parameters riders could adhere to, a proper study would be needed. I am a lightweight rider so not personally offended by it...!

It was a preliminary study with more to come, hence the results have not been shared as definitive advice.

I would also add that if your TB can carry a 17.5 saddle and the NF only a 16" then your TB still MIGHT be able to carry more weight....saddle platform and saddle panel length (ability to spread weight) is just as important as whether they're a "weight carrier", but is not considered nearly often enough.
