It's been so long since I've ridden much I was just trying to see whether my old, much loved suede chaps that came from a local tackshop, probably about 10 years agon ? did or didn't fit over my ariat tellurides and promptly broke the zip while trying- will be repairable with a cable tie ;) . (I had them in 2 colours, I have no idea why I kept the black ones as one has no zip at all anymore ?)
I have some summer breathable material ones that fit ok, but usually the reason I have the tellurides on rather than my jod boots is because it's wet and I don't want the breathable ones (that also don't have great inner leg protection, which is fine on my saddle but current saddles I sit in are variable).

So, given that they are rather chunky round the ankle what do others wear successfully with their tellurides? I have some leather gaiters without the front bit that work ok with my ariat extremes (which are also chunky) are there suede versions of that style?

I've not done any horsey stuff shopping for ages!

I used to wear cheap elasticated chaps with mine - shires maybe.
I tend not to bother with chaps these days and just wear long socks or proper boots if I'm having a lesson

we're doing 6 hour days so long socks aren't going to cut it. As we haven't hit summer yet though my grasmeres might yet be brought into summer service!

Yes it's my sisters fault... there's an ester family riding holiday afoot. . . inc mum!

Yup, current ones are like this, currently still drying from friday when I would have been much better off having the tellurides on, instead I had water literally swishing about in the bottom of my boots. Other than falling off in the sea I don't think I've ever been quite so wet on a horse, in fact I think I was drier after falling off in the sea!

I have an aged, decrepit pair of the Shire's faux leather ones, which sag down around the ankles and are atrocious looking with my jodphur boots but fit around my Tellurides just fine!

I have Ariat Telurides and wear the shires chaps or Dublin ones, no problem fitting the over, used them for long Trec rides.
