OK - I can associate with this!...

My mare is on a low sugar, mainly fibre diet which has been working for her very well for well over a year. However, she loses appetite when in season and migrates pretty much to the most high-sugar part of her diet (her hay, which is soaked for 1 hour) and ignores the rest. The rest includes her Mag Ox, vits/mins (Forageplus or Equimins) and linseed - which are the things I really want to ensure that she takes in, in full. Last month she just had a tantrum for 5 days and refused to touch anything. This evening, as she had come back into season today 2 days ago, I sprinkled a half scoop of normal (mollassed) Alfa-A over the stuff and she tucked in. Didn't exactly clean up but did consume all of her vits/mins, Mag Ox (so far as I could tell) and more than 50% of her linseed (not a fan, unless it is soaked in very warm water), which was a huge improvement on previous.

So my question: Does anyone else have a mare who has what I can only describe as sugar cravings when in season? And if so, do you do anything about it or just ignore left overs?
