Ive been schooling in a pee wee bit at home and my mare goes beautifully in it, soft rounded and listening, but as soon as i go back 2 a snaffle she gets strong again, leans on the bit and pulls my arms so much so they hurt. Are there any snaffles that are very thin bars in the mouth like the pee wee or something with rollers it, it would need to be dressage legal though. She is very strong and she knows it with a plain snaffle.

I'm thinking waterford for the leaning, it has no nutcracker action though.
It is not so thin either, how about a magenis bit as it it's reasonably thin with inner rollers, I've know a couple of horses to go well in it too.
Why would you want something with rollers? x
How about the magic bit?

I have gained a huge bit selection for my mare as she is also very strong & can lean but she doesnt like poll pressure so any form of gag is out. I tried magenis & she goes fab in it. Would highly recommend :D

I thought waterfords weren't dressage legal though?!

Daughters pony was the same, didn't like single joints either so we put him in a copper snaffle with a lozenge & she worked on tons & tons of transitions with him. Goes lovely now :D

What about a verbidend if he leans and you need dressage legal? You can get different diameters.

I don't think either rollers or waterfords are dressage legal.

You might be better giving more of a description of what your horse is in now and what exactly your horse does and posting in CR saying it must be dressage legal.

Also consider your noseband, switching to a drop might help.
