my mini is shut in her stable whenever I am away with my horse anywhere... I cant leave her out as she paws at the fence. She is left in with a haynet and water bucket but on my return she has without fail, tipped it out and flung it about:rolleyes: Any ideas?

If you're only out for short while take water bucket out. Only if you're out for a short period though. I have bought a trug with handles and managed to tie it to the stable wall with a very short length of bailer twine. Making sure it impossible for horse to get hoof into any loops of twine.

I'd just leave her with the haynet and forget the water bucket if you are not going to be gone for more than a couple of hours.

Otherwise wedge the bucket inside a tyre

I tried the big trug with my Clydesdale and she managed to pick it up and fling it around soaking her new shavings bed. I ended up happering a large staple into the wall and used a rope clip to secure the trug to the wall.

My ID has discovered this fun game too and it's driving me insane!
She uses her hind legs to squash it and then proceeds to trample it round the stable!!!!
Might need to try the tyre and rock!!!!

Get a D shaped bucket and fix to the wall with a clip. Have used them with success for youngsters for many years until we got automatic drinkers put in. Make sure it's at the right height for it (top of bucket should be level with top front of chest and as near a corner of the box as you can so that it cuts off that corner completely and make sure the clip of the fixing is facing to the back so that the round edge is towards the horse (not as shown in the pic here). Never once had a problem of anyone getting hooked up in them at all. http://www.robinsonsequestrian.com/...buckets-mangers/flat-back-hanging-bucket.html

We used to use the clip buckets too without problems.

Our sec A used to tip buckets over, we used to surround them with straw banks to keep them in place. when she couldn't tip them over she just used to stand in them - we'd come in in the morning to a front leg in each bucket and a smug face!
