I am looking for a dressage saddle which will help with my position (its not too bad but could always be improved) and which will give me more stickability on my rather spooky horse. I am not sure I will get my rear end in a deep seated one, but on the other hand, surely a deep seated one will give more stickability. I have been quite taken with the Ideal Jessica, and I have seen one with a suede seat and knee rolls.

I also have heard of saddles being 'narrow waisted'. What on earth does that mean? Would a narrow waisted saddle more suite a petite rider?

Would love to hear from 'larger' dressage riders with advice as to what saddles they prefer.

I would go for something with a large weight bearing surface if I were you and not too deep a seat. The jessica has this and has a large flat seat whilst also being quite deep. I have an ideal dressage saddle and its so comfy and nice to ride in. Albion K2's are also very nice saddles, I had one for 4 years on my spooky horse.

The narrow twisted saddles are for the smaller rider with small hips as the seat is narrower.

I was 4st heavier than I am now when I bought my saddle, everyone told me to go for Albion or Ideal. Good luck. (I got a Bates in the end as the horse isn't mine and I need it to fit any horse I ever have but hopefully will end up with the one I ride now!!!!)

Thank you everyone for the suggestions so far. I am glad to hear that Ideals are popular.

Would love to hear from anyone else, and their suggestions (apart from Weightwatchers!)

In terms of position and stickabilty i would recommend the albion k2. Very comfy and secure. The ideal jessica saddles are a similar design so i would think they would be good too.
