I need to buy a new rug tomorrow, my boy has a hunter clip and is out in the day weather permiting and in early afternoon until morning. I have been toying with a detachable neck probably with a zip, but must admit am confused about weights, don't want him being too hot but on the other hand not too cold, but don't want to buy loads I'd rather layer than just buy several.

I like weatherbeeta and Mark Todd rugs, its is a turnout rug I'm after.

Any recommendations on weight and make would be great, I know is been done before so apologies.

Ive got a Rambo duo it cost £180

It comes with a detatchable hood, the outer liner has 100g filling, and it comes with a detachable liner of 300g which combines to give 400g heavy weight- cosy.. which your horse will probably need since its clipped.

Its like getting two rugs in one, and has never leaked. Its a really good fit too, best rug I've had!
You can also buy additional liners - 100g and 200g for around £30

Hope this helps. I have also found fal rugs really good, and the Premier Equine Winter Buster turnout looks good too.
