Have decided to get a dressage saddle for 14.1 connemara, not mega wide. Where to start looking? Not sure about Albions as very mixed reviews, always find Ideals a bit slippy and don't know much about others. Currently in a wide GFS jumping saddle and nice WH saddle for the flat. Budget approx £1000 but maybe more for something perfect.
Ideas appreciated.

I'm a fitter for Native Pony Saddles and can answer any questions :). I do think it is better to go for a brand that fits your horse, even if they are not best known for the type of saddle you are after - Connies are usually very flat from front to back and most dressage saddles have curvy trees which are totally unsuitable. Be prepared that you will probably end up with a not-so deep seat in order for the tree to work for your pony. I find that if the seat is the right size, and the blocks are right, then almost all customers find saddles good to ride in - the better they fit the horse the more stable/happier the rider usually feels in the plate.
