Hiya I have a 19 year old dales pone. To cut a very long story short he has had 3 years off due to pedal bone problems, but thankfully he sound and full of bounce, I brought him back into light work last year, light hacking and a bit of light work in the school. Which he has been fine with and is enjoying. I was just wondering if any of you can come up with some ideas or stuff ridden wise we can do in the school.
I don't want to be doing too much, so at the mo we are doing short bursts of trots lots of transitions, trying to get him respond to more and more subtle instructions. All of which he is loving, but he is very bright and gets bored very easily and was wondering what kinds of variety I can introduce. Sessions are only about half an hour, and it's never going to be real work, so the aim is fun.... Any suggestions for some 'games' ridden that is, would be great xx
Thanks... Oh today we had at every opportunity, can we canter Mum, can we canter Mum, so he is currently feeling rather well.
I feel a bit stuck cos vets don't really seem to be able to tell me what he really is capable of doing....just 'give it a go'
