treated myself to a pessoa and have looked at video re fitting and basic use, and seen.discussed with a couple of users, but wondered if anyone might suggest how they would use it in a program of work. my horse is hacking fit and has lost a lot of 'schooling' muscle through lack of it through the winter, so effectively starting from scratch.
i'm fairly competant so could prob work this out on my own, but just wondered if anyone had been given or devised a clear programme of work specifically aimed at using the pessoa as effectively as poss.

My physio gave me our regime :)

It was: three times a week, building up from five mins on each rein. We'd got to fifteen minutes on each rein. It's hard work so much better to build steadily. Don't canter until your horse is happy and settled and easily coping with a good dose of trot work. I can see it when Dizz is tiring as it really works them quite hard.

We always start off comparatively loose, then tighten up over a couple of sessions.

I found it useful at teaching the Dizz not to flipping argue so much lol. As the Pessoa doesn't respond as I do when I'm riding, if Dizz does her head waving thing in the Pessoa it doesn't get a response and she quickly learnt that if she keeps a steady head carriage and stretches long and low then her mouth is left in peace :). This transferred to when I was riding as well :).
