So, I've been told by local equine store that the Pt2 hunting air jacket can be worn under your hunt coat, but if it goes off expensive hunt buttons will fly off. So I am thinking there must be a way of sewing the buttons on with elastic, but I am no seamstress.. So any suggestions or clever ideas gratefully received..

Point 2 do make a hunt jacket with an airbag built into it. There are elastic panels which allow for the expansion. But they re made to measure on you and a bit expensive! The hunting style point 2 is still designed to be worn over the jacket; it is just a slightly slimmer design and is supposed to recognise that many people won't put a BP underneath - although you should do ideally.

p2 inflates inward.
Unless you enjoy the feeling of being crushed and winded on the floor every time it goes off under your jacket - I wouldnt suggest it!!
Even with the elastic buttons...

This jacket goes along the lines of the elastic inserts under the arm and around the torso - as Shay suggested. Its jolly expensive, but I am sure if you are desperate to put your jacket on under your coat - a very good seamstress should be able to insert some pannels for you!

Point Two do say they can be worn under
Taken from their website FAQ:
Can I wear my Point Two underneath other clothing?
A: Yes, so long as it is loose enough and the lanyard's function is unobstructed. For example, William Fox Pitt wears his beneath his cross-country colours. If you wear it underneath a number, ensure the string around the neck is a bit looser than it would normally be if you were not wearing the air jacket.

I'm not actually contemplating it at the minute, (I already have a Hit Air!) but I know one or two people who would be much more likely to wear one if it went under their coat rather than over..so I am just trying to help them solve a problem with the buttons.

Saw the new P2 advertised on FB - pricey though. Anyone use the hunter style one, for outside the jacket? They look neater than the standard, although I already have the standard one so not planning on forking out for another version!
