I bought one on ebay a while ago, I have yet to use it as I`m bit of a lazy cow ;~)

Its not very light weight, I`m worried that it could be too heavy or would it matter?. I`m giving long reining a go for the first time, I have a book on it and of course will be asking my instructor. Any tips on it doing it well. Share horse is not a not a youngster or inexperienced he is a 16 year old been there done that. I`ll be using the English method as I do not have a roller.

Cheers all.

The most important thing is; wear gloves! I have the exact same line as this one; advertised as soft on your hands and stops burns.....it's all lies I tell you!

They burn like hell if you have a bit of a wild horse on the end.

Just take things steady and you should be fine - be careful where your rein is and make sure you don't get it caught around where you are stepping and don't wrap it around your hands.
