Can anyone recommend me a really good vented riding hat for summer. My head is melting atm!!!!

I ride in a Uvex Exxential (MIPS version) and really like it. Very lightweight!

Whilst of course it does need to fit you, I find it incredibly lightweight, non sweaty and comfortable to wear all day. This is me in mine.
It’s my first dial fit helmet, I’m a convert.

I finally swopped my pudding basin for a Uvvex this year as well. It is very light and airy. I wish I had done it esrlier now.

If you aren't fixated on believing it can only be safe if it's sold for riding horses in, or wanting to compete in it, take a look at some of the helmets they sell for extreme bike and skateboard sports, which are heavily vented. I used to ride in a Mips Bell Sixer in summer, which I chose because of the deep back it has on it.

If you can find one in this country a Tipperary Sportage hat is very well vented, I've ordered one from USA and they actually aren't that badly priced from there.

I'm another with a uvex. I do find I have to tighten the dial up on longer hacks though

I got a Uvex hat after reading reviews on here, it is very light and airy, but the back does fit lower than my previous hat and makes me feel a bit queasy, this is probably to do with the tension in my neck

I rode this morning in my Charles Owen MS1 Pro MIPS Jockey Skull - Bought in Feb 2022. I like it very much.
The standard size hard shell is custom fitted by ones saddler with the correct MIPS insert for ones head shape and size
Most important the saddler instructed me that this hat must be put on from the front of ones head and it doesnt come right down at the back where my previous hats would press on my neck in any fall.
Unlike my previous hats - all HS1 - my head and hair never get sweaty in this. And I am not much aware of wearing it. However I keep one of my old helmets for yard work. If one is knocked over and kicked in the head by a horse which one is leading, a modern MIPS hat is probably not going to give as much protection as an old fashioned all over head helmet.
We are 27 miles from the saddler so I am not going to leap into the car and rive down to explore hats. And I do phone up before going there, tomake sure that I go when their fitter is working and also so she can orer in the exact size she thinks I may need.

My only issue I have found with my uvex mips is that it's so light I forget it's there and there have been a few times I have got on and started riding without it!! (Disclaimer could be age!)

I have a Charles own air vent jockey skull cap one a Charles own riding hat with a kiddy design inside a velvet riding hat that i can't remember the brand but i have worn it twice but i normally wear the jockey skull one with different riding hat silks
