Summer sores??

Buster got these last year, not as bad as in the pic but they wern't nice

managed to get them cleared up and then this year i brought him a fly hat with a full nose (old one only came half way down his nose), as apparently they are caused by flys, but i have just noticed another one starting.

this is a pic of one i found online. (Busters isnt this bad)

anyone got any ideas of how i can prevent/ treat these?

I have the same problem - i have found the best things are the Tesco Aloe Vera Soothing/Cooling greeny sunburn gel and the old favourite sudocream.

Is there gorse in the field?
We think thats whats causing our lot to get them

one of mine has just got one of these for the first time ever... someone mentiond to me it could be buttercups... which i do have for the first time ever too, so could quite possibly be the answer!

thanks for the replys! we have no gorse and very few buttercups in one field and none in the others

I always thought those were caused by buttercups.
