Could people suggest my transport options?

I cannot drive above a 3.5 tonne horsebox or a tow unless I take a test. I would rather not have to buy a 4x4 as I've just bought a small car and my budget is rather low (£3000). I would hire a trailer if I had to use one.

Would it be possible to find someone to take me on the days needed (Thursday evenings and weekends) for a 2 mile journey. If so how do I go about this?

Can I hire anything for the 5 month period and my mum drive? or I drive if 3.5 tonne.

Any helpful suggestions much appreciated. I have contacted a big yard to ask if I can pay and share their transport and am awaiting a reply.

I have been doing some research into this recently and the prices I found for hiring a 3.5T lorry were all around £1000 per month!
Days rates for hiring a little box and horse transporters (who would drive for you) would also be expensive if you want to travel once or twice a week.
My only suggestions would be maybe try and look to hire a trailer and 4x4 together, I think I have heard of this being done before. Or maybe buy a 4x4 and sell again after summer and hire a trailer?
I'm guessing it's not possible to hack the 2 mile trip due to busy roads?
