Horse having her leg scanned in a week or two to see whether check ligament has mended or not. She will have the backs of both forelegs totally shaved for scan and she has pink skin. I don't want her getting sunburn so what can I cover them with? If its really hot like it has been, I am loathe to put boots on her because her legs will boil. She is a sod about having sun block put on and will happily gallop round and round me for hours so I can't catch her and put it on!!

A tubigrip has been suggested. Any other ideas?

That is a problem!

I wouldn't really want turnout socks on either. I would go down the suncream route, but don't just catch her for that - take her for a graze up the lane/round the yard perhaps? So she doesn't just think she is coming in for that. Have you tried giving her a lickit while you do it - its a fantastic distractions sometimes with ours when I'm doing something they don't like!

Other than that, perhaps keep her in during the day and just turn her out at night? Or a bigger sized turnout sock (so not as tight..) with holes punched in it?

I know someone that got fly socks for her horse that were like leg warmers made out of dishcloth type material. She got them from american website but I forget what they were called!
