We took Teddy for his first "proper" test, which was the N38

He was an absolute angel and although he is still very unbalanced he did a nice accurate test and his trot work was fab. The judge liked him a lot, but she is well known for being tight on the marking. I was really pleased for him when he got his score of 60 and won his section. I spoke to the judge after the test and she was very impressed when she realised he is only 4

Unfortunately we had a bit of a mix up with the times for the Elementary with spyder, and when I went to see Ted's score I noticed I was due to be in on spyder!!!!

So i legged it across the car park and threw the tack on him and legged it over to the arena and straight down the centre line!!

I used the test as his warm up, and because he takes a while to get motivated it was not the best test in the world, so I retired as we went down the centre line.. the judge was in hysterics!!!
She liked him a lot but commented that he was err.. a little behind the leg!! he he

We warmed up properly for the Medium, and he did a lovely test, but unfortunately also in the class where loads of very expensive looking posh warmbloods who where just in a different league to the porr lil coblet! He ended up on 60.8% with some nice comments and I think 4th place!

Didnt have any battery left to get pics of spyder, but heres teddy:

I couldn't stop laughing at you tacking Spyder up and doing the test straight away... that is something I would do

Teddy looks absolutely fantastic and really impressive. He certainly does not come across as a four year old, he seems more mature than that

Neither could we...................and he missed the bit that he had to do extended trot across the car park to make it to the arena **giggles**

Why the hanging cheek?

[/ QUOTE ]

It took Ted a bit of time to learn to soften and to stretch down and forward and I found that the hanging cheek just gave him a bit of extra encouragment. I think he has probably just about got the hang of it now and am thinking of putting him in a normal french link eggbut snaffle soon!

What a gorgeous horse, looks very relaxed especially considering hes only 4.

The mental picture I had of you rushing over and straight up the centre line made me madly giggle to myself. Got some weird looks from my family.

As an owner of a 'cob that can', would love to see some piccies of spyder when next you are out and about.
