Summers coming, Boo Hoo!

All I can say is roll on Autumn. What's so great about Summer? Riding out in the baking hot sun being followed by hordes of flies, having to walk along bridleways usually cantered along in Winter due to rock hard ground, flies bothering horse in field grazing, sweaty heads under riding hats, sweaty body mucking out, being woken up as soon as it gets light by horse in stable calling out wanting breakfast and to be let out, horse standing at gate wanting to be put back in stable when too hot and bothered by flies, need I say more? Anyone else think so, or is it just me?

LOVE IT horses out 24/7 no mucking out unless flys bad, when in during day out at night, sun tan, bath time for ponios, riding in the sun and beer down the yard... HEAVEN!!!!!

must be just you! summer to me means lots of early morning or late evening rides, fly rugs and deosect keep the flies at bay in the field, hang a fly trap too if you can...shows going on i like to do my class and stay and watch, hopefully it won't be a cold wet summer like last year, but one thing i really do love is a thunderstorm after a few days of hot humid weather, the smell off the ground afterwards is wonderful!

I can't wait for summer! It feels like it's been winter non-stop as last summer was so rubbish, and I have never been so low as I was this winter, with just rain and darkness, so incredibly depressing.

Whereas this evening, we left the yard at nine, and it was only just dark, I just want it to warm up now so I can start to peel away the four layrs of clothes I generally wear!

laminitis seems to be common all year round now, sweetitch can be a bugger i agree, but that's what boett's are for!! relax and try to enjoy it!

I couldn't agree more, sorry everyone but I wish we could just skip summer. Its just too hot. If you think about it when you are too cold you can ALWAYS warm up one way or another but if you are too hot excepting lie in the shade doing nothing (which you can't do while riding) there is nothing you can do about it. Also and possiable most importantly NO HUNTING.

However, you only get the summer shows in summer so perhaps its worth it!!

it's not totally just you, I love spring and autumn when we have nice warm days and tracks that are still soft enough to canter on, and the horses are out enjoying the grass. I find the really hot weather we often get down south hard to bear, esp the flies, sweaty horses and crowded bridleways - ba humbug!

What is wrong with you lot how can you hate summer if we are lucky enough to get one that is.
I love it, i ride early in the morning or late evening so im not out in the hot sun.Long days no rushing back before it gets dark early, picnic and pub rides, dont have to wear layers of clothes like in the winter, give me the summer any day!
