Sorry i couldn't post last night but I couldn't get onto site!!
Well a mixed day for me & I'm afraid i didn't continue the H&H success from Saturday. Well done to everyone
The alarm went off at 4.50am... yuk! Q still looked as good as he had when I left him the night before, so onto the lorry & off to Patchetts.
He warmed up lovely. In fact I prob had too much time, so I walked him round for a bit, picked him back up (still going well) & then we were called.
I was v pleased with his test. So much better than the one he did at Wix. I thought the trot was lovely. He did a good free walk (for a change!) & really stretched down. We've really been working on it. First canter wasn't as forward as I'd have liked & he didn't show much medium, but the 2nd was lovely (& that's normally his worst canter!) Finished with a 2nd good free walk & a square halt.
I was delighted with him, my friend who'd come to help /support said it was the best she'd seen him go in a while, so we were confident of a reasonable mark.
Scores went up & I was sooooooo disapointed to see he'd only got 59.5%
But that's dressage for you.
In the end my section of 30, only had 10 that got over 60% & he finished 14th (The winner was on 64% & 8th was on 61%)
The other novice section only had 2 below 60%!
So a low scoring section, & not too bad a place to finish, but looking at my sheets the judges had similar total marks, but each liked different things! If I got a 7 from one, I'd get a 6 from the other & vice versa.
So off to now plan my Elementary campaign!
