So we changed our old TB to Sundown Yellow as it was a bit softer than the Snowflake Softchip we had used for years and was trying to help his arthritic hocks! He started to lose hair on the legs that were closer to the bedding when he laid down and on his elbows and tummy. Swapped back to Snowflake soft chip and the hair loss stopped. Has anyone else had a reaction like this to the Sundown? Am gutted as the bedding was really working for us as very absorbent. 😟

It's shredded straw isn't it? Possibly treated with something to discourage them from eating it? So probably a reaction to whatever that is I'd guess. Worth asking them so you know to avoid it.

I use shavings but put a few shovels of snowflake wood pellets where they wee it just soaks up the wet so saves on shavings cost and I only do a full muck out a few times a week when they are in.
