I was asking my feed merchant about Equisorb the other day but they don't stock it although they can get it but it's very dear (their words, not mine but if they think it is dear then they know I won't want it anyway!) They stock most things, shavings, straw, paper, Easibed, Bedmax and also this Sundown Yellow which is similar to Easibed I think, made from rape straw well chopped with added eucalyptus so thought I'd give it a go as the usual shavings have lightened the bales and pushed prices up to make them pretty compatible.

What a revelation!

Goes so much further than shavings, lovely fluffy bed, absorbs so much more, very easy to clean too and bonus for me, seems to work so much better with the mats than shavings ever did. Even Spring, who is a wet madam can now have a bed instead of just a few shavings scattered about; for that alone, it gets my vote. Another bonus is the smell of it, great!

Cheers.

Having real problems with Thumper as he is quite heavy on his bed, and rather wet.

This could do the trick. Will look in to it.

Well Spring was driving me to distraction, she was so wet, trawled it all over the place and I hated her not having a proper bed, felt very guilty but now with this she can; she might need it looking after a bit better (more thoroughly) than I do normally but I can live with that, I couldn't have put a bed of shavings down for her, she would have ruined the lot in a night! I'm well impressed but disclaimer here, it might not suit everyone!

Yep - used it for a year now. The firm burnt down earlier this year and has only recently got going again.

I buy mine for £4.75 a bale delivered.

Fab stuff.

I suppose we couldn't be much further apart from your side of the country so transport costs have to be taken into it but wish I could get it at such a good rate!

Years ago I tried it, there was a local agent, liked it then although it wasn't chopped so much, but she gave up the agency so haven't seen it for a while. I'm glad I've found it again!

I get it from Corbetts in Malpas. I don't know anyone else that stocks it local to me just now. Their number is 01948 860272 and they're open 8 to 5 Mon - Friday, 8 - 12 Sat. They do shut for lunch, 12 - 1 (woe betide you if you call in then!!) Is that near enough for you? Otherwise you could ring Sundown and see if they have any other stockists reasonably local to you; I put a link to their website earlier on.
I still like it and Spring has had a bed for 4 days now although I did only use one bale to try it first (she has full rubber mats too so not down onto concrete!), her box is so dry compared to shavings which were a soggy mess every morning.

Yes i'm only in Holt, so not far at all!
I know where Corbetts is, will have to go and get some as all four of mine are very wet.
Glad to know it's compatible with rubber mats too!!

Wow - this sounds excellent stuff. I have a dreadful box walking bedwetter who is on box rest and this sounds much more absorbent.

Best bit is I'm in the same county as the factory so I've just mailed off for prices - hoping I may find it a bit cheaper too. Thank you!

Right - I'm now very confused, can anyone help?

I'm a very few miles from the factory. They will only supply me direct with 300 or 600 bales! They have put me on to a local stockist who will deliver Sundown Red for £5.87 "plus diesel money" and had not heard of the yellow. I've just been to him and collected some and he tells me he's been on to the factory this morning and the yellow is "an experimental product". Eh? But people on here are using it - and you're all far further away from the factory than me and getting charged less.
