Sunflower seeds

I bought some for my horse last year and it gave him very watery poos.
Is that normal ? or
Should I have perseverred with them ?

That's never happened when I've used sunflower seeds. Could it not have been something else causing the squits?

That's not normal. I have almost 30 horses on them and none have had the squits. Could the sunflowers have been beyond their use-by date? Or stored next to another feed which might have been out of date?

nothing else had changed. I had given them with his normal food of oats, alfa a, linseed and bran.
I gave him just a handful in his feed and after a couple of days he had the runs.
I bought them from out local pet store. Perhaps I bought the wrong ones???

The mice and rats had them in the end !!

I never heared of feeding sunflower seeds to horses why do you feed them ?

Never had any problems, just disapointed we've had no sunflowers grown round the place!

Never had any probs - TT they are black SS aren't they?

Yes they were weezy.( I think they had the white lines on them)
It was last winter I tried them. Perhaps it was something else giving him the runs and I blamed it on the SS.
