I was going to add a thankyou at the bottom of my original post but thought a new "thankyou" would be better.

A thousand thankyous to everyone - I was so low last night and I needed to hear positive things and I needed to be reminded that (I think) the closer the relationship you have with your horse, the quicker they pick up OUR emotions. So standing there hugging him and crying and telling everyone it was the end was probably not the most sensible thing I've ever done in my life!

It's now only 48hrs since the endoscopy and anyone who didn't know the story would think there wasn't much wrong with Sunny. Made some radical changes: HayBar installed at vet's recommendation so he eats off the floor and any secretions drain down and away. Gradual weight loss programme. Drug regime as per vets. Gentle exercise, no hills yet (ha ha - we're in Wales). And NO CRYING allowed! He was so much more his old self today. I rode him in walk for 20 mins in the school and he had one little cough. Polished all his drug-laced breakfast off. Ate his drug laced tea with gusto. And most importantly, he leant his head on me and let me know he thought I was ok after all. We had a little whispered smooch together - did me as much good as I hope it did Sunny. I'm to ring the vets in a few days to discuss progress and I'm going to ask them about antihistamines - so much helpful information on the Forum.

Thanks again everyone for understanding what it feels like if you think you've betrayed your ned. Oops - weepy again!

Let you all know how it goes xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

, long may it continue... i know whenever my horse feels bad i feel bad -i tend to walk around in a huff ( or in tears ) until they are better!

Yeyyyyyyyyy! That's really good news. So many of on here know just what you're going through (I battled grass sickness with my mare - and won!) and though its really really tough, being positive is so important.

Someone once said to me - you can't change what's happening, but you can change how you respond / feel about it.

Big hug
