Hi all- Long time lurker here finally actually managed a post of my own! hehe

So the mud is starting to dry up, the suns out, and I finally have some horsey motivation...after reading the 'weekend plans' thread last week and seeing all the plans you lot had for your horsey weekends I made a spur of the moment decision to book a lesson with a woman who was teaching at a clinic I went to recently- big deal for me, I haven't had proper lessons in years!

Anyway, the lesson went amazing.....then there was another weekend...and so on monday the showing results began...

My poor pony has barely been ridden over the winter and has had to rough it living out due to work which he made very apparent he was not impressed about. So far I reckon he's been sat on about 15 times this year? But anyway, in spur of madness I decided to enter our first show of the year.

A nice local show? How about some low level dressage? But alas, the excitement was too much and I entered the National Pony Society Spring festival....in the HOYS class *eeeeekkk*

His first ever HOYS class!! So its a bit of a mad dash this week getting everything ready and we're going to need some serious bathing on Saturday as he's the most filthy grey I've ever met! But fingers crossed he behaves- i'll be happy if we get around in one piece!

Anyone else suddenly feeling horsey motivated?!

The sun makes all the difference! Good luck for the weekend hopefully all will go perfectly! :)

I'm also off for first outing on Sunday for this year just a bit of in hand showing with the youngster :)

The sun is everything! I'm not one for hot weather, but working on a big livery yard is just so much easier when it's dry-especially turnout days... It means I have more energy for the end of the day to sort my own pony out. We're doing our first affiliated Dr on the 22nd and then hoping to do our first Elem tests early May. The good weather has certainly lit a fire under my bum. Hopefully the slog of winter will have been worth it :)

Good luck
Harriet and Chilli xx

I know what you mean I have been scouring the Web for shows been riding in the Pelham in preparation been trimming cleaning all week, my fields now resemble a dust pit but I am not complaining anything is better than mud and rain.

your very brave entering a hoys class after a quiet winter but you may as well start as you mean to go on so I wish you luck! Please let us know how you get on:)

Hah brilliant, nothing like a big class to get you motivated. The weather is so nice, make the most of it! And greys scrub up lovely. I'm so slow at that stuff, used to take me over 5 hours to get my boy ready when we dabbled in showing last year, but he did look sparkly in the event photos haha.
