Sunscreen for my grey minion?

Thanks everyone - esp for making me laugh as well as giving me advice.
I will plaster said minion, and hope I am not arrested.

Don't go for a named brand, go for a cheap one like Tesco's kids total sunblock, research indicates that own brand are better than the named brands and are usually a higher factor than stated ( I would go search for the research, was going to do a diss, on sunscreen use and the increase in skin cancer

) but am all researched out at the moment

I was having this dilemma, as my boy doesn't like me puting any cream on his nose. So I bought an Equilibrium nose sun guard thingee. It was only a tenner and he's managed not to pull it off yet!

I'd use a factor 50 - although my old cremello never burnt strangely!

You know, since you mention it, I don't remember the last time I saw a horse with sunburn in Argentina.

Weird isn't it? He was blue eyed and pink as a mole under his very white coat......sometimes he'd peel but never burn......something in the genes maybe (american saddlebred)

We use Barrier Hygiene Sunburn Soother on the horses. Its a good sunscreen as well as an aftersun soother and actually stays on. It smells nice too.

Personally I use P20 as I have very freckly fair skin and burn easily....P20 allows me to actually get a suntan and you only have to put it on once a day which is brilliant!

We use Boots Soltan factor 50 with built in insect repellant, its also water resistant.

That's so funny about the RSPCA - but I think I can go one better! We got reported to them for 'blinding our horses' but they were only fly masks... Now we put a little sign up saying what they are! One old biddie even complained that 'the dignity of the horse was comprised' because they look like the bunny from Donnie Darko! I was speechless!
