I and my horse are going out with the Cotswold for the first time next week. I think he'll be grand so my only concerns are, parking - is it a case of, turn up and find somewhere, or do they provide it?? Also, I won't be going for a full day, as horse is just not fit enough for that - so will I be able to peel off and find my way back to my box easily enough after an hour or two?

Thanks for any replies!

Best to phone the secretary for details of parking - sometimes it is arranged in a suitable field near the meet, or have hard standing reserved for those in lorries but other times there isn't anywhere and you will have to park away and hack to the meet.

The latter depends on your sense of direction, but having said goodnight to the field master before leaving there should be someone able to direct you to the nearest road. Foot followers can usually supply info for the best route home. Technically you should stick to roads and public bridleways rather than hacking home across the farmland you have hunted over.
