Super gluing a rug

My cob often has a rub when he comes into the stable and he has pulled the buckle off the from of his amigo t/o rug. Its only been worn a few times since it was last washed and re-proofed so I am loathed to send it off again and of course the rug menders won't do it if its dirty (understandable)

Has anyone tried super gluing a rug? Its the bit of material that the "T" buckle sits in.

Storm sure glue is excellent and designed for rug repairs.

I would superglue it but then also while the superglue is wet slide another piece of webbing through the loop and back along the strap a couple of inches and put in a couple of stitches with a plaiting needle and thread

Storm sure is excellent! I used it to glue a rug and my wellies back together! its really cheap on ebay
