I am so fed up with haynets breaking!
Recently I bought supposedly ‘strong’ nets from KM elite and Lemieux…and they’ve both broken

I have some I bought 15 years ago that have survived perfectly, so I know such things must exist somewhere?!

Can anyone recommend a brilliant super strong Haynet?

thanks you :)

I buy these for soaking hay and they've stood up well to two years of repeated immersion in a bath then me hauling them around with 6kg (dry weight) of sodden hay inside them.

ETA - BB you got there before me!

Great Minds ?

I also have these and they are still in perfect condition after 8 years

I can vouch for Martsnets too. I bought two a couple of years ago and my two ponies haven't managed to enlarge any of the holes.

I didn't do so well with the Shires haylage net, the red and black or blue and black one and all were sporting nose sized holes before the end of the winter.

I did OK with the Martsnet ones and have a couple that are about 5 years old however the more recent purchases haven't fared so well. They are 2 years old and I was repairing a large hole yesterday.

I do find that smaller holed haynets don't last as long, I assume as they get attacked more in the attempt to get hay out.

Another that would recommend Martsnets based on my current two :)

I've had them about 18 months now I think, so will be interested to see how they fare after Criso's comment of newer quality.

I can also vouch for Shires hay nets (especially small holes). I have the soft mesh ones which I bought by accident, didn’t think they would last the evening. So far she has had them for 5 months and hasn’t chewed a hole in them! I have found most other hay nets have quickly been transformed into nose bags.

My Shires soft mesh nets are fine after over a year but the drawstring died after a few months. I have yet to find a string that doesn’t wear out
The Nibbleze net and rope is fine too although the rope fitting is a nuisance to loosen for filling.

You can a reel of white nylon rope at most DIY stores I use it to repair all my nets with it never seems to break, it saves a bit of money having to buy new nets all the time especially if they are fine.

I have the small-holed versions of the Shires no-knots mesh nets and they are completely undamaged after over a year, string included. They get some fairly violent abuse too ?
