Thanks Nicolaread! According to his passport he is by a 16.2hh danish warmblood stallion (which the stallion's owner has confirmed) however the mare was a 15.2hh dapple grey they thought was cob- which is what is what shows in Bentley's passport... However he is 17hh (at 4yrs old) and I am convinced they were mistaken about the breed of the mare- my suspicions are either Percheron or Irish Draft

I use the VetVits Equiflex and feel it works well, friend also uses it for her eventers and it really makes a difference to those as well but will depend on what you want it for.

I use it kind of like a preventative measure for my ponies as they do a lot of fast and sometimes hard work so i like to ensure their joints are getting all the help they can.

I use Premierflex. Do a lot of hard hacking (hills, rock etc) and FB had an accident last year so just trying to give him as much help as possible. I get it from e-bay as they occasionally have it £5 cheaper than the official website on there. Site is equineanswers if you want to google.

Thanks for all your help guys- it seems trial and error might be the way forward!!

To give you some background Bentley came in lame from the field 6wks ago and has had a 'grumbling' lameness ever since- the severity varies from hardly detectable to painfully acute without any obvious reason for the change

Nerve blocks confirmed it is in his foot and xrays have ruled out fractures, disease or arthritic changes

.
The vet has concluded he has twisted or tweaked something in his foot, possibly the coffin joint or the soft tissue supporting it

and so I need to rest him and get a supplement to aid his recovery

See my other post on Superflex, it has been AMAZING on my two horses, one with a spavin. Other joint products didnt seem to have any effect at all.

I use superflex on my 19 yr old mare and have seen/ felt a big difference in her since she's been on it. I felt a bit like you probably do when I trying to decide which supplement to go for....too much choice!
i decided to go for superflex as it has MSM in it which works as an antiinflammatory and I thought it would be good as my mare injured her check ligament last year as well as being a touch stiff in her hocks (much better now
