Superflex...

Oooh I'd like to know this too, my vet has said that long term this kind of supplement will help the lame one. I don't know which brand/dosage is best though....
 
yes, it does for my boys- 17 yo and 28 yo- but like any supplement, it suits some horses not others.

Interesting, have been told recently that Superflex has higher levels of Chronditin (sp?) and MSM than Synequin, which is precription only. (Synequin doesn't actually have MSM in.)
 
I use it and I think it makes a difference, I use the liquid. I initially did one bottle at 50ml dosage as he's a shire x and he's now on 25ml
 
There are better specification products that are cheaper if you are prepared to search and read some labels. The standard dose doesnt even supply the recomended amounts of glucosamine. I would spend your money on something else!
 
I use Premierflex from Equine Answers - higher spec, cheaper price :D

Made a big dfference to FB after his accident and I notice when he is not on it...in fact I need to go order some more!
 
My mare won't eat the supaflex! She is a bit fussy granted. Eats the cortaflex no problem, but if I'm honest don't know if it makes much difference :) x
 
I have a horse on EKYFLEX which is a similar supplement here in France and he has been on it for 3 weeks. Can anyone tell me how long it takes before you should see any difference if it is working? I also have him on Devils Relief.

I have just ordered Suppleaze Gold by Aviform because it is so much cheaper than the EKYFLEX but still have a good level of Glucosomine, MSM, Hylauronic acid, Chondoitin etc. The Ekyflex is well over £100 whereas the Suppleaze is £87.95. The levels of supps are in fact higher in the Suppleaze from what I can make out when comparing.

It is a bit of a nightmare trying to compare them all and the different levels in each product. You need a maths degree to try and work out which is best value for money.
 
Mine was on superflex for a few years. But recently as her arthritis had got worse I've switched to cortaflex HA. Which has really helped. With the superflex I always found the powder was more effective than the liquid.
