Does anyone have any experience of Supernumerary teeth in horses?

Did they cause health or behavioural problems ? If so at what age did the problems start?
Did the horse have the tooth removed?

My Gelding has an extra cheek tooth.
It can be removed but I'm extremely reluctant to do this as it would mean an op.
Touch wood- the tooth has not and does not cause him a problem at present; I'm hoping it never does .

Thank you

Thank you for your reply Applecart.
It is relatively uncommon (1 in a 1000? there is some research being carried out at present) it was missed when the horse was vetted.
I thought someone on here might have experience but perhaps not.
