Turned up yesterday and did evening stables, all was good.

I've been asking sooo many questions but my housemate come babysitter said she likes that and prefers it to the work exp's who don't ask so that's alright! She's very friendly really nice girl so i've settled in quickly in that respect.

This morning wasn't too fab-was groggy so slow at mucking out and only got one box done for her two which made me feel bad. Also because i'm too meticulous and want to get every bit of poo out!
Also had a horse plant then start being a d*ck when being led in. We were at the back of 6. Should have told him to get on with it but lost my voice so we stood there for 5 mins waiting for rescue! :o
Then the little sod embarrassed me by walking on perfectly fine just as they all came back, wondering how they had managed to lose me! Whilst doing some field jobs I got the worst funny turn and had to go back to the cottage.

Went back after lunch break with my housemate and everything was loads better, mucked out faster and generally got things done well so felt happier. Everything aches at the minute, only a little but mainly my feet!

Overall enjoying it so far.:D
and the majority of the horses are quite sweet and chilled, more so than I expected.

I just started riding freelance at a yard. They are a lot more mellow than I expected too. Stick with and u'll get faster.

Great stuff hon :D

See, us racing lot aren't making it up when we say race horses are absolutely fine. It's the nut jobs that rehome them that are the problem!! lol

You'll get loads quicker once you know the routine don't worry. When you don't know where things are and the standards expected you can't be expected to be as fast as the regular staff.

Yeah they are so funny, i found one with a certain itchy place on his jaw today. i found it hard to get out of the stable when a big old thoroughbred reeeeaaallly wanted me to stand there all day and scratch it for him!
I think i have been chucked in the deep end as my 'babysitter' is getting a little impatient and making side comments about what i'm doing. i think her intentions are good but i've felt like shite a few times today. apart from that it's quite a nice yard and i know i could have gone somewhere much worse!

SHHHHHH!!!!! Don't tell everyone how lovely our racehorses are! If you do then every Tom, Richard and Harry will want one!

Glad you are having a good time - it will onlyget better :D

psst, i'd like to take a really funny one home :p i love him :D

and it has indeed gotten better-today went very smoothly (well up to my lunch break that i am now on) and i didn't get nervous when handling a couple awkward buggers and bringing one in from meadow break! he was exciiited and trotting on the spot was funny to lead him around. Needless to say, am very pleased :)
