I'm thinking of putting Charlie on a joint supplement and Suppleaze is going to my first one to try.

Do you really have to use a loading dose? He has no particular issues other than he is a little stiffer when warming up in the cold weather (he's 17 this year and raced until he was 11 so to be expected!) so i just wondered if i can just start him on the maintenance dose as it seems strange to 'load' them up if i'm just using it as a maintenance product?

Also I'm assuming the normal Suppleaze is not worth touching as no-one seems to talk about it and its alot cheaper?!

Suppleaze Gold can take up to 30 days for the benefits to be fully noticed, so the loading phase often helps speed this up.

If using for maintenance only, the loading phase is not strictly necessary.

Suppleaze Gold is a superior specification, with additional ingredients which are not in the standard Suppleaze.

I use the normal suppleaze and really rate it. I've used both products and can't find anything that compares on the quality of product, the amount of ingredients per scoop and the price. I have tried !!!

Roger is very helpful and will answer any questions. I don't work for them but have us their products for a few years now.

Might be worth trying the suppleaze and see how it goes.

The recommended dose is Glucosamine for a big horse is 10g per day, 10g msm and Chondroitin is 4g

To get this you would need to feed at the loading dose all the time and you would still be short msm.

All the supplements are a bit sneaky in this as it makes their supplements look better value if they use lower recommended.

There was a really good thread comparing joints supplements here which quoted supporting research. http://jarvm.com/articles/Vol4Iss2/Rodgers.pdf

Suppleaze did come out quite well in the comparison and even if fed at the loading dose it is good value compared to some others.

Thank you all for replying and thank you Aviform for me being your first post! I feel quite special!

I will email you separately with a few questions if thats ok Aviform.

Criso - Useful information thank you, it seems the standard suppleaze provides the adequate intake (mainly because it states this on the directions for use at the bottom!) so does this mean if you dont feed a supplement at the 10/10 it has no effect or does it just mean it has less of an effect(ie ok for a maintenance dose) ? It's so confusing!

Can't really comment on the loading dose as I can't remember! But I can say I fed my horse Suppleaze Gold in his last few years and he has to be one of the only horses in their late 30's to have only ever had one day of stiffness in his life!

More than happy to assist with any additional product information required, either by e mail or telephone, which ever suits best.

Thanks again.
