2. My mare has arthritis due to injury on hock. My vet told me to keep her on bute for the rest of her life. I wanted joint supplement. I used Cortiflex HA which worked well. The I found Equimins who told me about Flexi Joint. I changed over gave her less Flexi Joint Than the Cortiflex she went from strength the strength and I weaned her of the bute. she went 99.9% sound. I also use Cider Vinegar
3. Hi there,
A couple weeks ago you recommended Equimins Flexijoint to me for my arthritic mare.
Just wanted to say thanks!! It has made a massive difference. Way more so than the 2 sachets a day of danilon did! She started on the danilon when the devils relief she was on seemed to stop having much effect and tbh it hasn't really made much difference, she was still totally lame just in the field, and I have been debating THAT decision.
But!! She has been on the flexijoint about 2 weeks now and she's gone from trotting like a cripple to only just noticeably lame which is fine for her, she's retired and I just want her to be comfortable to potter round the field.
She travelled to her new home like a beaut and of course had a hooley round in the field so she's probably sore from that, but she looked ok doing it and didn't seem in pain. When she's settled I'm thinking of taking the danilon down to 1 a day and see if it makes any difference, I doubt it will and there's no point pumping her with stuff she doesn't need.
4. I changed my pony onto this and have had really good results. I was using Cortaflex HA liquid but only saw any benefit if I kept it at the maximum dose and even then he was nowhere near as good as he is now on the Flexijoint.
5. I really rate it
Did lots (and I mean a lot ) of comparisons before I bought - the Equimins has the highest levels of chrondroitin / glucosamine / MSM / HA I could find. It's good value too, I actually now feed quite a bit less than the recommended rate & find it's still effective.
We feed it to our older mare with spavin, who's now currently sound - hope it helps!
6. I also have my pony and dog on Equimins Flexijoint - excellent results and nowhere near as expensive as Cortaflex or the like. Also they give you a money back guarantee
7. I'm on Flexijoint for an achey hip, and my TB stopped dragging his back toes after a few days on it. Used their products for years. Good quality at reasonable prices, can't beat Equimins
8. My mares on supplease but will be changing to flexijoint because its better value for money even with the buy 2 get one free from supplease. Ive heard boswella is brilliant but my mare hasnt got bad athritis just a clicky hock and it has helped along with linseed.
9. Aloe Vera has always been a very good supplement for horses with Arthritic problems, see if you can find a Forever Living Product distributor in your area,OR you can go in on www.healthspan.co.uk and get Aloe Vera Tablets http://www.healthspan.co.uk/search.a...ry=aloe vera and Green Lip Mussels http://www.healthspan.co.uk/other_joint_...-p310-c125.aspx they work brilliantly together ! I use the above for the same problem but its in the hock of my old mare she now like a spring chicken again and give 2 capsules of GLM and 5 Aloe Tablets per day,I started with 4 capsules and 10 tablets and then gradually reduced it
10. My horse was diagnosed last may, Arthritis of the Coffin joint, He had 3 HA injections & has been mostly sound since, Hard ground & ruts are the biggest problems, he is sound to hack but cant school, he cant cope with circles & as he's a big lad he always seems to be going round a corner! Since Christmas however he's been getting worse, I had the vet out last week who said to start him on one Bute a day, I have had him since a foal & he was only just 13 when he was diagnosed, Its just not fare, trouble is I don't think that he realised that he has a problem. Its totally heart breaking, but he went from BSJA to Happy Hack surprisingly well & he's happy in him self (that's the most important thing) he is on a very good joint supplement, Its one of those things that can only be managed im afraid, I could still cry most days when I think about it!
