Hiya, I'm just looking for some advice. I've a 17yo pony who has always had a bit of a sensitive tummy. He will have the runs for a few days here and there and whenever I change his diet no matter how slowly! He's out 24/7 on a paddock that is just right for him at the moment. He's a native and is not packing the weight on thankfully but is not particularly interested in haylage when he comes in to be worked so it seems like he's ok where he is. he has COPD which is easily managed so long as he isn't given hay. I give haylage balancer over winter and it does a lovely job of keeping his droppings firm.
The problem I'm having at the moment though is the amount of gas he is passing. You certainly wouldn't want to be lighting a cig as he walks past! He's not uncomfortable or bloated and his droppings are good. I'm unsure what to add to his feeds. He is on a token feed of a handful of dengie hi fi lite and a handful of cheapo nuts a day when he is in to be worked (4 days out of 7) or groomed. He gets 50g linseed twice a week and seaweed. Any help would be appreciated as he is not so popular with other riders when he's lead file on a hack!
