Hi, as the title says really - my horse gets very itchy and lives in a sweetitch style rug most of spring, summer, autumn which works alongside switch so have that under control but this time of year with coat change, his coat gets very scurfy and if you take his rug off he just itches and itches ...

I will clip him out on his neck (scurfiest bit) but was just wondering if anyone had any ideas on a supplement - can not put him on oil as it gives him waaaaay too much energy

Thanks for any suggestions/recommendations ..

I use Horse and Pony Direct Coat Shine Supplement, it works wonders on my black fell pony. It contains Omega oils, Zinc and Copper. it is 14.99 a bag and last me 2 months. I get comments off yard members asking why his coat is so shiny!

Have you ever tried neem leaf in the feed and neem oil on the coat. Bitlessandbarefoot.com sell this special kind of neem which stays on the coat for quite a while and seems to be effective against sweetitch. If you email the lady who runs the site she can tell you more about the people who trialled it.
