Hi, my husband's horse was diagnosed with a lymphoma yesterday. The vet recommended getting supplements to build his immune system up. Has anyone got recommendations?

NAF D-tox and Feedmark Recharge (or whatever they renamed it), feed together. I can't remember if the Recharge contains the herb echinacea but if not, I'd buy some of that separately and feed that too. D-tox is a broad spectrum vitamin/mineral supplement fed at a loading dose then down to a maintenance dose, after a month I think. Recharge is nutrients to boost the immune system, fed for a month or two as an occasional thing, whenever necessary. Echinacea is fed 10days on and 10days off, to support the immune system, until whatever the problem is has been cured.

I wouldn't try anything like red cell or pro pell without running it past your vet first; they're very high in iron, and with the horse's condition you don't want to mess with the mineral balance if it's not necessary. Too much iron can cause anaemia because it inhibits the absorption of copper.

A detox is a good idea, though. You could look at Trinity Consultants or Ronfields Nutrition.
