Hi, my 3 yr old welsh A filly is possibly needing supplements or balancer. Atm she is at grass, most of the time, and a cpl of times a day she is in for rest and has some hay. I give her a handful of honeychop lite twice a day as a small feed.
She is unridden. Any advice please?

What is it that makes you think she needs supplements?

Welshies are designed to live off fresh air and at 3 she will have grown sufficiently. So unless she is thin or has poor coat/hooves then personally I’d not supplement anything.

If the latter I’d use a powdered vit/min in her chaff she gets. I wouldn’t be using a commercial balancer on a small native.

Ponies kept naturally develop more slowly than the forced ones you see in the ring, but your little mare will have a much better future if you let her mature naturally.

As IHW says it's a choice. My youngsters do look less developed than others in the ring, but I like to get them out for the experience and we often come home with a red one, so if your pony is confirmationally correct then you stand as good a chance as the people with ponies pumped full of all sorts.

The only balancer I fed mine was Spillers Gro N Win and that was only to help them through their wonky stages.
